1.2 Time management and organizing activities

· Each class was given one hour and 10 minutes for the presentation of the topics, each procedure of my teaching had a given set of time for me to reached the maximum time given in one setting.

The organization of my activities followed the four communication skills. After the discussion of these four major skills in communication I gave activities which were appropriate to what I presented. The students can perform a short dialogue in front of the class or to read aloud. I also had the grouping activity as a means of cooperation and collaboration wherein they had to cooperate with each other to be able to come up with the correct answer. Each of the activities had a limited time so I can divide the time fairly in each of my activities.

1.3 Problem Solving

· I let the students understand the basic principles on how to identify a problem and what is needed to solve a problem specifically in learning the target language, English. These were the procedures which I employed:

1. Identify the issues- I had to be clear about what the problem is and remember that I have a diverse students therefore they have a different views towards it.

2. Understand everyone’s interests- knowing the level of their interest towards learning a particular topic let me understood unto what is the steps needed to be done or pedagogies needed to employ for them to boost their interests and to gain their trust in understanding the topics that had been presented in class.

3. List the possible solutions- I listed the possible solutions to the identified issues so at the end of the class my students will reach the objective given and as well as they can learn something from me.

4. Evaluate the options- I had to make sure that my steps in solving a problem is authentic and effective that is why I had to evaluate each options and chose the best so the students can solve and learn in an easy way.

Below is my detailed lesson plan on how I follow those steps and conducted a class.

Note:

This lesson plan was already checked by the receiving university supervisor.

1.4 Classroom Management

During my teaching in SD Muhammadiyah Pakem I considered some ways to manage the class to keep the students organized, orderly, focused, attentive, on task, and academically productive. I had to maximize the behaviors that facilitate or enhanced their learning. Generally speaking I tend to display strong classroom management but not too strict because I also want the students to participate and since it is a learner-centered approach, I always keep a positive attitude inside the class, the respectful fair treatment of the students, to make sure they are in a conducive classroom for learning, I also manage to made an instructional materials colorful yet appropriately fit for my discussion and to engage to what is the students passion for me to know their learning ability skill.

1.5 Others

During my teaching days in SD Muhammadiyah Pakem I also conducted an educational game that I learned from my school in the Philippines like a message relay . I had to consider their belief system and as well as to learn their culture and how to deal with their differences, they have to learn from me and I have to learn from them. And every day of my teaching I made sure that I can input a values and good morality in their minds to simply balance the goodness of their being and wisdom that they ought to learned.
