I was assigned in SD Muhammadiyah Pakem, a private elementary school under the management and guidance of Rr. Aflati, Fatima, S. P.d.
Below are the pedagogical contents according to the topics:
1.1 Teaching methods
SD Muhammadiyah Pakem teachers teach the students using this variety of approaches or methods:
1. Learner centered approach- to bring out the best of every student yet to have a retention and effective learning, they are more engaging in such hands-on activities after every presentation of the topic since they have 1 hour and 10 minutes every meeting.
2. Scientific approach- to teach systematically or a step by step process also called the spiral progression, My cooperating teacher first found out what is the problem by observation and inquiry until she could find an appropriate pedagogy to teach the children.
3. PPP- the present, practice and produce, teaching the students using this method or pedagogy for him/her to really learn the communicative skills using the foreign language specifically the English language because the school offers English subject from grade one to grade 6, therefore this kind of pedagogy that Md. Pratiwi used was so helpful, the children learned easily.
1.2 Learning materials and innovation
These are the learning materials and innovation that my assigned school has:
Learning materials:
1. Books
2. Still pictures, flashcards, dictionary, maps and even globes for the history class.
Innovation:
1. ICT- the school provide an ICT building exclusive for the learner for an exposure of learning resources and to provide more knowledge.
2. Educational technology- laptop, speaker, projector, projector screen used to provide instructional materials to get the attention of the students and is convenient for them to learn
1.3 Sources of learning and technology
The school SD Muhammadiyah pakem provides educational facilities and educational technology for the enhancement of learning. They provide ICT building, laptops, projectors, projector screen and speaker. The school also have many reliable sources that is well-chosen to provide an appropriate instructional materials and to meet the learning standard using these sources as a tool to effectively integrate technology into subject areas where in it provides a meaningful and fun experiences for the students.
